HEIRNET (History Educators International Research
Network) is a forum for researchers into History Education to meet
bi-annually to share research findings, explore issues of joint concern
and contribute towards the professional development of colleagues from a
range of countries. As such, HEIRNET has two linked dimensions:
workshops for history educators from a range of countries across the
world who are meeting the challenges that history educators face and a
symposium that involves international researchers.
As an outcome of our first conference, at St.
Martin's College Ambleside Campus in the English Lake District, in July
2004 a collection of papers has been published in the International
Journal of Historical Learning, Teaching and Research.
